The Nature, Wildlife and Pet Photography Forum (NWP)Contest Rules

Note - This first Photo of the Day contest is NOT a charity even though the proceeds will be donated to charitable causes that are working to help re-build the Gulf Region area that was affected by Katrina. This means that photographs and money spent on this contest are NOT tax deductible as we are not a registered 503/c.

All photographs entered must involve the themes of nature, wildlife or pet photography. Any image that does not contain one of these themes will be eliminated from the contest. NWP has sole discretion to determine what constitutes images that fits into these categories.

There is a $10.00 USD entrance fee for one image. All images must be approved by NWP before it will be displayed in the gallery.

How to Enter
To enter, you must register or login if you are a current NWP member. Once you login, click on the 'Photo Contest' link located at the top menu and it will bring you to the gallery page where you can upload an image.

All files should be 1024x768 or smaller. The winner of the Prize (the Photo of the Month) may be required to upload the full size file to insure authenticity. To learn more on how to submit an image file go to:

Daily Selections, Monthly Winners
Our contests are open to both amateurs and professionals. Each day, one photograph for each category, (in the event of multiple categories) will be selected as a Photo of the Day. At the end of the month, one photograph will be picked as the Photo of the Month (in each category should there be multiple categories).

Prizes
Winners of the Photo of the Day will receive name recognition and a copy of their picture on our frontpage for the day. The winner of the Photo of the Month will receive a cash prize in the form of a gift certificate to B&H Photo and Video, or like vendor. The amount of the prize will have a cash value equivalent to $150.00 (if the total number of entrys yield less money to the contest than $150.00, the prize will be reduced to that amount). Should more than 200 contestants enter the Photo of the Day contest, the prize will increase to a cash value of $250.00. Prize winners must be willing to provide the full size file of the image that won the contest.

Taxes
All monthly winners are responsible for any applicable Federal, State and Local taxes/duties/tariffs as a result of this prize. Prizes will generally be delivered to the winning contestants within 90 days of the close of each month's contest, although it's possible there could be a greater delay if the prize in question is a product that hasn't yet become available in the general market.

Reviewing Submissions
All submitted images will be reviewed during the following month. For example, photographs that are submitted in September will be reviewed for the October Photo contest. Images submitted in October will be reviewed for the November Photo contest, etc. A Photo Of The Day (POTD) will be selected every day (or within every few days). At the end of the month, the Photo Of the Month (POTM) will be selected. Once the selections have been made, the winners are notified via email, and arrangements are made to ship them their prizes. At the discretion of the "sponsors" involved, prizes may either be shipped directly by NWP, or by the prize suppliers themselves. At the start of the following month, the winners' names and winning photos will be posted. All decisions of all judges are final.

Terms and Conditions
Uploading of any images to this site indicates that you agree to the following user agreement (as of 09/15/05):

• Photographs will be accepted only from the original photographer. The photographer must hold the copyright to all photos he or she submits to the contest. Photographs that violate the laws of copyright will be disqualified.
• The photographer must hold the copyright to all images used in stitched images in the case of panoramas. Other forms of composite images are not accepted at this time.
• The odds of your winning are dependent upon the number of contestants.
• There are no age limit restrictions except where prohibited by law. Please do not enter if your state prohibits such contests.
• Each contestant is welcome to enter the contest multiple times. Each image uploaded must be accompanied with a ten dollar fee.
• Obscene, provocative, or sexually explicit content will not be considered. NWP Photo Forum retains sole discretion as to what is unsuitable content.
• System malfunctions, network delays, and other technical problems can happen and NWP Photo Forum is NOT responsible to assure photos are submitted to the contest, nor does it make any guarantees of when the photos will be entered into the selection pool.
• All federal, state, provincial, and local laws apply.
• Prize winners may be responsible for shipping charges, taxes, or import tariffs according to location and/or local laws.
• No assignment, transfer, or substitution of the contest prizes will be permitted except by the sponsor. The contest prizes cannot be redeemed for cash value. Any person who supplies false information will be disqualified.
• Contestants agree by entering the contest to allow NWP to add the information given by each contestant to the respective mailing list.
• The NWP Photo Forum selections and decisions are final.
• All contestants agree to be bound by these rules and agree to hold James Morrissey, Chanthee Keokhaw and the NWP Photo Forum, its affiliates, independent contractors, and administrators free from any liability for injuries or damages of any kind while involved in a contest activity or through the use of this program.
• The use of public domain images is prohibited.
• Photographers retain ownership of all copyrights.
• By submitting an image to the NWP Photo Forum Photo of the Month Contest, you hereby grant NWP Photo Forum the permission and rights to store, display, and use the image, its thumbnails, and your name as the photographer on the NWP Photo Forum web site(s) for the purpose of advertizing the website and its contests. We will never sell or print your photographic work without your specific written permission.
• Any photographs meeting legal challenges from either copyright or insufficient model permissions (in the event a human model is in a photograph) will be removed and replaced.
• Contest fees are non-refundable.
