I photographed my gelding this week. He is twenty two and has been going through some health problems this past year. I wanted to capture him before the winter coat started but to late. It is suppose to be a tough winter and the animals seem to be showing us that the almanac will be correct.

His name is Winter Tree Country Charm. I have had him since he was a two year old. CC is a joy in my life and I cherish every day with him. His dad was a three time top ten national champion. It is so great to share your life with animals that make you smile everyday. I am so lucky!

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. I used to show Arabians many years ago. What is his breeding?

Thanks Julie and Julie. Not sure how to write the plural of Julies!
CC is the son of Alada Baskin. My mare who is 28 and this gelding have had their share of problems this year. But all looks good now! Having always had such healthy animals, it is strange to have to monitor them so closely. I guess that is what we have to look forward to when it comes to our old age.

One of my Sibs has had some issues lately too. So those of you that have suffered your losses lately, my heart goes out to you.

A beautiful collage for a magnificent horse. I wish CC and your other horses the very best. It is hard when your faithful companions get old, but it helps to talk to others who understand.

PeggySue,
great horse, lovely photos and a terrific collage. I love your post-processing. BTW, CC looks healthy, happy and very much "on the muscle". Man, I have to get some horse photos. Awesome animals.

That's beautiful. I really have to learn to do some collage work.

Thank you all for your lovely comments. I am never sure when I work on images of my own animals if I can be objective. Your input is very helpful.

Hey Peggy Sue,

It really is quite remarkable. I agree with Jim - it would be great to learn to make collages like this. Are you just dropping layers? How do you blend them so nicely together?

Okay, I think the best way to learn is to jump in and try. So how about a challenge. Pick a subject you really love and choose about a dozen images. (you need to have more than you need to pick from). I usually start with the size that I need the end result to be in the design.
Lets take about a couple weeks and see what we come up with. Then post and critique. Lets say a 16x20 image as the final. Who's up for it? How about putting images up on election day?
