Had to get some photos ready for the upcoming St Patty's Day holiday. The rotties have a history of not getting along for photos, but they have been getting better all the time. (being from rescue, they have been slowly learning to get along for the past year) But today they just sat as calm as can be.

Not my favorite of the day, but my favorite of both together. Now if I could just get them to open their mouths to "smile".

The composition is indeed cute. You definitely need to kick up the light in the shot. I recall with your last batch that Julie (I believe) was able to really boost the photo up with a bit of work in PhotoShop.

I am not sure how you are metering your photos when you take them, however, I suggest that you pay close attention to the histogram. The LCD lies, the histogram does not.

Ergh!! Looks fine to me until viewed on the web page. (It does look a bit dark on the web page to me as well.)
Even if I copy the image back from the web page and paste it into Photoshop, the image looks fine again. (So it is not just an sRGB v.s. AdobeRGB issue -- I always convert to sRGB before posting).
Monitor calibration is just turning out to be a big joke.

Hard to look at the histogram... all black background. 80% black rotties. A histogram with emphasis on the left side is to be expected.

Anyway, thanks for the comments. I'll definitely have to pay more attention to what the image looks like after posting and make adjustments. What a pain.

Anyone else have such issues with images appearing dark when viewed via web browser? Or does monitor calibration actually work for anyone?
