I'd like to get an idea of what parks people plan to visit this year. It won't be long now until the flowers are again bursting from the earth and reaching for the sky!

I'd also like to extend an offer to anyone headed to Montana (GNP, Yellowstone, Waterton, Banff, etc). If you need any updates or ideas of where to go or what's hot just let me know and I'll do what I can to help. I live in East Glacer Park and look out my window and up the Two Medicine Valley every day (not rubbing it in, just a fact - well, maybe just a little rub - LOL).

If you're ever in the neighborhood, give me a call or send me an email before you get here and maybe we can have coffee or meet in the field.

Take care,

Hi Tony,
if you'd like to see flowers blooming now instead of waiting 3 months, I can send you some photos of the hybiscus blooming outside of my window here in Florida : )

On the other hand, I am indeed jealous of your location for most of the year. On the other hand, we have our own dramatic natural locations similar to the Grand Canyon (we call them sink holes) and your majestic mountain ranges (Mt Dora, just outside of Orlando is a dizzying 300 ft above sea level).

We're in the process of renovating and selling a home so I don't think we'll be visiting any of the major parks this year. But, we hope to get up your way sometime over the next few years.

And, if you're ever in Florida, give me a buzz. We'll show you the natural wildlife at Disney's Animal Kingdom : )

Jim

Sounds great! I've been down there to Ding, and the Glades, I really like to visit down that way especially in January! Take care. I'll look you up the next time I'm down that way. . . Post a photo of your flowers! I have not seen anything naturally green or colorful since October.

I am planning at least two trips. I am going to Steve Kossack's Death Valley Seminar (I think he has a couple of spots left if anyone else is interested) from March 11-15 and Yellowstone/Grand Teton the last week in August.

The Death Valley trip, I think, will be really cool. This will be my first seminar that I have ever attended. Having briefly gone through Death Valley last year on my way to the Digital Wedding Forum and WPPI trade shows, all I can say is that it is an amazing place. I hope that they get blooms at least 1/2 as good as last year's.

Yellowstone is almost like home to me. What else can you say?

The last thing that I am considering, if possible, is Churchill Canada to see the polar bears. That would be a real thrill though expensive. If I cannot afford the sheckles for that, perchance Alaska (which would also be a bit pricey). This part may be too ambitious for '06.

James

I will be at Denali from June 19-June 30 inbetween Dog Agility Trials. I don't know when I will go to Kenai Fjords, but it is only 2 hours away, so I can fit it in anytime.

For me, I have had a slight medical setback lately, although things are getting better. I'd love to be in Death Valley with Steve and James, I have been there once and loved it, and I am sure the company in that crew will be fun and everyone will have an awesome time (and get great pics :-).

I always try and get to the Southwest in the Fall, it's just an incredible place to be. If I am able to swing it, I may go with Steve to Yosemite next summer, it looks like a KILLER trip.

Finally, I live 50 miles from Rocky Mountain National Park, so I will be there a lot :-)

Hey Pual, how's the elk and deer populations doing in RMNP? I'd love to come down and photograph them some time in November. . .

Elk and deer populations seem to be doing well (almost too well, no predators). Just bring your wide angle lenses, you bring the big glass, you may have to back up a long ways! :-)
