One of my favorite places to shoot in the winter. All these shots are from this month. Soon the Bald Eagles will come start migrating into the area in large numbers.

I also spotted an Ermine while shooting but only managed one poor shot before it took off into the snowcovered brush.

Hey Jim,

Nice shots. The third is my favorite. The colors are nice and rich! I look forward to seeing the eagles!

Thanks guys!

Call me crazy but I'll be trying to get those eagle manually focusing a 800mm this year. Finally bit the bullet on a big lens but could not swing the Canon ones. So I'll see how well my manual focus skills work as I try to get then with both the 800mm and the 560mm I used in most of the shots above.

I know this is a bit late, but I just started to browse this thread and I LOVE the first Kestral shot. I'm an novice but have an art /painting/drawing background, and this shot is WONDERFUL! Excellent use of negative space and color and it has a spare, artistic feeling, like a James Fenwick Lansdowne painting. I would buy a print if available. (Let me know!)

Great work!
