+68 Saturation
-39 Brightness

New Layer
Topaz DeNoise (trial version at the moment)
Select Color Range - Red
Add mask.

I have to start with maroon to get red. Start with red, get pink. I don't know why the CMOS's want to clip the red channel, but if you look at your raw file you'll see that it gets clipped very quickly.

Do you backlight maroon to get red?

I knew from shooting cardinals that the sensors have a hard time with red, but in my experience, it usually shows as over saturation rather than clipping or under-saturation. Then again, the over saturation probably comes as a result of under exposure to avoid the clipping.

If you look at the bottom left you can see that this is burgundy. What color is the background?

OK. I call this color Really Red. If I light it much it clips or blooms and goes pink. This is a fabric with some texture and seems a little easier to get red than a red paper.
