Hi Jim,

That is high praise and I humbly accept it. The Dante's View shot is the first 'good' photo I have ever taken there. I even mentioned it to Steve the other day that I finally found a composition there that I was really happy with.

The Light Leak Issue apparently has a very simple fix. I don't think I will be sending my camera in though. I don't think it will be necessary given the type of shooting I typically do.

Maybe I missed something but isn't the "light leak" really the reason they put the eyepiece shade on the camera strap so that no ambient light will be fed to the sensor through the eyepiece during time exposures in the dark? Is this another "amazing discovery" that was uncovered by Robby Nikon Galbraith?

I think the light leak is a 'non issue' for most folks who use the 5d3. If you are working in extreme dark environments, shooting long exposures, I would definitely send the camera to be fixed. So far, I do not believe that it has shown any sign of problems with my camera. While the serial number indicates that it may be a problem for my camera, the truth is that it is not my type of photography.

Hey Folks,

Just wanted to let you know that yesterday my BG-E11 Battery Grip came in. I now understand why it is that the BG-E6 was not made forward compatible. The new button array is far superior on the BG-E11 (with a second joystick).

My only gripe is that the new battery component slides in through the side (on a tray), so that it looks similar to a 1 series. My guess is that this was done to incorporate the new molding and the additional joystick. The problem is that for those of us who use L brackets on our cameras, it will mean another $189 to Kirk.
