Love the cat shots, expecially the enviornmental ones. The last one has that really AWE factor. Even though they are very well fed, the tips missing from ears on some show they are really outside cats. Thanks for posting. PS

Wow Edward, that's a lot of cats. Thanks for sharing. I agree with James, a lot of good shots in there. I like 6, 7, 8, and 14. Of course the kitten is very cute.
Peggysue, I noticed the ears too but most are perfect cuts. A lot of time in large feral groups, people choose to leave them outside as apposed to bringing them in and either adopting them or killing them. But left to their own devices, the population will boom, with or without adequate food. So a lot of times shelter organizations will come in and sterilize the population. And to prevent wasting time trying to recapture the same feral over and over again, they developed a means of quick identification of the fixed cats. They Tip the ear and it's easy to spot.
Thanks,
Jeff

Hey Edward,
Thanks for the post. These are great - though there are a few that really stuck out for me. The last two are great. Love the angles and poses.
The kitten in number 4 is VERY cute. I like 5 a lot and #8. # 8 particularly because you can see the cut ear of the cat. He is an 'outdoor guy.'
Nice work. James
James, thank you again. #5 is very friendly and he has very nice fur. His coat color is rare to me
An old lady walked past and patted his head. Too bad I'm not used to taking photos of other people on the street and I missed that shot.

Thanks Jeff. So you guys do the same in the US?

Hey Folks, I had not been aware of this practice (cutting a small portion of the ear). I completely understand why they do it though I have some gut immediate objections to it. Actually, I guess it makes a lot of sense. Better than a leg, I suppose. James

Ed, I will have to admit I learned that from TV. I do not recall where the story took place. For all I know it could have been about these cats:) But if I saw it on TV, I am sure people associated with different rescues saw it and have since adopted the same approach. James, I agree, my knee jerk reaction was similar, but I suppose for the greater good, it's fine.
Thanks,
Jeff
